Happy Fall!

According to the calendar, it’s fall now! Fall is my favorite time of year! I love cool days that invite you to open the windows, pulling my lonely sweaters out from the back of the closet, and watching leaves dance with the wind.

On one surprisingly cool afternoon a couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed sketching a few buildings around town. I’m definitely looking forward to more outdoor sketching this fall! I just finished creating a linocut from my sketch of one of our most iconic buildings on the square. Built in 1900, this limestone building features an onion dome which is apparently very rare in Texas architecture. The building is currently the home of Juliet’s Italian Kitchen. I’m looking forward to creating prints from my other sketches as well. Especially the old post office which has been repurposed as an upscale restaurant!

Save the Date!

The kids and I are working hard to prepare for our 3rd annual Holiday Driveway Market! Save the date for November 22nd from 9am-1pm! This is our favorite event of the year! The kids create all kinds of Christmas decorations, handmade cards & homemade baked goods! This is their opportunity to be entrepreneurs like mom! You won’t want to miss John Mark’s cinnamon rolls! And Amber has made a whole family of gnomes ready to add joy to your home! They even come with special names. I believe we currently have Jake, Bob, Pecurnicus, King Gerald, Queen Elizabeth, & Peter. Lily and Brooke are sewing & painting all kinds of things and Lily has big plans for a photo booth and lawn games! I’ll have my products available too! We hope you’ll come see us!
