Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break! We spent a week at my parents’ farm and it was so nice to slow down and enjoy being together. One of my favorite winter break activities is working on puzzles. I have a hard time taking time off and feeling unproductive, so puzzles are the perfect way for me to do something that isn’t work and also feel like I’ve accomplished something! I’m currently on my 5th and most difficult one. I love the scene and the oil paint style, but it’s a tough one! Here’s a link to the puzzle if you’re like me and love a challenge!

I admit I did work a bit over Christmas break… but I kept it Christmas themed!

My very last print of 2025 is titled ‘Christmas on the Square’. Christmas in Georgetown is a truly magical experience! One of my favorite holiday traditions is walking around the square with my kids, surrounded by twinkling lights! I wanted to capture that magical feeling in this print with the stars, the decorative border, the lights in the trees. The print is now available in my online shop and is also in my exhibit at the Georgetown Library.

The Georgetown Collection on Exhibit

My collection of linocut artwork featuring Georgetown locations is now on exhibit at the Georgetown Public Library though February 15th. A total of 19 pieces show bold black and white prints alongside colorful ones created using a variety of techniques for adding color such as gradient inking, reduction printing, and watercolor. An informal reception with snacks will be held this Friday, January 9th, from 4-6pm in the cafe area where the artwork is on display. I’d love to see you there!

Wish Well House

Another print I completed in December is Wish Well. This renovated, historic home sits right off the square and is now a beautiful wedding venue. I hope this print will serve as a special keepsake or anniversary gift for couples who are married here!

New Workshops Coming Up!

I’m excited to share that I’ll be teaching 3 workshops at the Georgetown Art Center this semester! First up is a new project I’m really looking forward to!

February 7th, 11:30-1:30

Creating Mini Landscapes

In this class, each student will carve a few stamps into bits of land, sky, or things to add to a landscape such as trees, birds, and structures. Then students can share and combine their pieces to create unique mini landscape prints! This class is all about experimentation – playing with color, layering of the stamps, and composition.

March 7th, 11:30-1:30

Mini Stamps & Mini Notebooks

Join me for a relaxed class full of creativity and miniatures! We will be working on a smaller scale in this class, giving each student enough time to carve several mini stamps and print 3-4 small notebooks (3”x5”). Carving small stamps is fun and low pressure; no need for perfectionism since you’ll have time to try again! Not only is this an enjoyable project, the notebooks also make great little gifts!

April 11th, 11:30-1:30

Printing Textiles

Learn how to print on fabric! Students will hand-carve their own stamp design and have the opportunity to print a cotton tote bag and tea towel to take home. You will learn all the skills needed to continue printing textiles at home to create your own baby onesies, upcycled clothing, cloth napkins and more!

I finally added these two prints to the website! The simple red poppy has been very popular at local markets and it was about time I gave it a spot online! These are also in my exhibit!

Every year I grow tons of red poppies in my Georgetown garden and I love sharing the seeds! I originally designed this print as a seed packet. And while no seeds are included with this print, I hope it will bring joy and more flowers into your home!
