April Showers, May Flowers!

This spring has really been about as ideal as you can get in Texas! We have had so much rain and the garden has been loving it! The blackberry bushes are completely covered in fruit, the sunflowers are growing several inches a day, the red poppies are still going strong, and the tomatoes are starting to ripen! If you’re local to Georgetown and you’d like to pick blackberries over the next month just reply to this email! We would be happy to have you come pick and share in the harvest! They are almost ready!

If I’m honest, sales have been startlingly low this year compared to the past several years. A dramatic drop, a concerning shift. In January, I reminded myself that it’s always slower after the holidays, but then February and March came and went and nothing changed. In April, I began to see a gradual rise for Mother’s Day and then a couple of busy weeks before shipping times became too short for delivery before the big day and sales tapered off again. Thankfully, being self-employed for the past 13 years has taught me to ride the waves (and save like every paycheck is my last lol). And now I’m at the point where I can mostly view these challenges as an opportunity to grow in my creativity rather than cause for panic.

I say all of this to illustrate my great appreciation for all of your support, purchases, and encouragement and to remind you that in all of these ways you make a huge impact on my little family! I feel incredibly blessed to be able to work at home, homeschool my kids, and do something I love. As a single mom, it is never something I take for granted. Thank you for supporting me along this wild journey!

Private Workshops

In April, I had the opportunity to teach block printing to a fun sorority group of 40 girls. Each student went home with their own hand carved stamp and printed tote bag. It was a fun day of creativity, building community, and making memories!
