Description
This original linocut print of 701 S Main was carved, inked, and printed by hand. Built in 1900, this limestone building features an onion dome which is apparently very rare in Texas architecture. It is certainly one of the most iconic buildings on the square here in Georgetown Texas. The building is currently the home of Juliet’s Italian Kitchen. I enjoyed sketching the building on site and thought it made a great subject for a linocut. This piece was created completely by my own two hands. Once carved, the linoleum block was inked with black oil-based printmaking ink and pressed by hand onto acid-free white paper.
SIZE: Paper size is 8×10”. The image measures 6″x8”
As an artist and resident of Georgetown, I really enjoy creating pieces that connect the viewer to this place I call home. This print is part of a larger collection of original linocut prints I am creating featuring Georgetown locations. The collection currently includes the Palace Theatre, 600 Degrees Pizzeria, San Gabriel Bridge, Monument Cafe, Sweet Lemon Kitchen, The Courthouse & 309 Coffee.
Each print has the title (701 S Main) and artist signature written in pencil below the print.
The prints will be shipped in a cellophane bag with extra cardboard and in a rigid envelope to keep the print from bending in transit.
