Hello! I’m Emily.

I’m an artist and mom of four living in Georgetown, Texas. I love mountains, gardening, being outdoors, and creating art. I enjoy working in several different mediums including printmaking, engraving, and watercolor.

My Story

Growing up, my mom took me to the library every week. Maybe that’s where my love of working with my hands began; it’s definitely where it grew. I didn’t really like reading and felt a bit bored and out of place surrounded by books until I discovered the how-to section. I checked out books on knitting and crochet and learned that I love making things. Books on woodcarving, sewing, baking, and gardening came home with me too, and a lifelong creative practice began.

In 2014, I started my Etsy shop, Hearth & Table Co., selling engraved wooden spoons as personalized wedding gifts. Through the years, my little shop has grown with my skills and is now my full-time job. After seven years of engraving thousands of wooden utensils and cutting boards by hand, I finally invested in a laser printer in 2021. I currently sell engraved cutting boards, wooden spoons, trays, and coasters with original and personalized designs.

My love of printmaking began in 2020 when I set out to add tea towels to my product lineup. Looking for a cost-effective way to add my own designs to the towels, I tried out block printing and fell in love. But I couldn’t stop there; a whole world of printmaking was waiting to be explored! Now, I offer classes for some of my favorite printmaking techniques such as linocut, gelli plate printing, and block printing textiles!!

My Shop – Hearth and Table Co

engraved and block printed kitchen goods

My shop specializes in engraved kitchen gifts. Many of my products are personalized as wedding gifts or special keepsakes for grandparents. Some of life’s greatest moments happen when we gather around the table with those we love. I hope that my products inspire you to get in the kitchen, create a simple meal and invite friends and family to your table. Also available on Etsy!

Teaching

printmaking workshops & classes

I love teaching printmaking for adults and kids! There’s something about participating in a hands-on activity together that encourages laughter and natural conversation. It’s so fun to watch friends bond over ink, paper, and creativity! At the end of the class everyone takes home their own unique artwork and some great memories too!
