Description
This original linocut print titled ‘San Gabriel Bridge’ was carved, inked, and printed by hand. This bridge borders the beautiful San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, Texas. While spending a morning in the park, I was drawn to the curve of the bridge and the line of sight through the arches. I enjoyed sketching the bridge on site and I thought it made a great subject for a linocut.
This piece was created completely by my own two hands. Once carved, the linoleum block was inked with black, oil based printmaking ink, and pressed by hand onto cream/off white paper.
As an artist and resident of Georgetown, I really enjoy creating pieces that connect the viewer to this place I call home. This print is part of a larger collection of original linocut prints I am creating featuring Georgetown locations. The collection currently includes the Palace Theatre, San Gabriel Bridge, Monument Cafe, & 309 Coffee.
